On 9^th October its 4 years since Fraser and I started our weekly show Weekend Wireless. Thinking back it’s hard to believe.  Not only has the show changed over the years but so have we. Fraser is no longer that cute cheeky kid; he’s now a cheeky young man.  I am not longer a fresh faced graduate; I am now an older looking, balding bloke. Then of course there’s producer and close friend Michael. Michael didn’t start with us until we’d been on air a few years but what a huge impact he’s had. You may or may not already know this but Michael is the one who works his backside off to make sure we’ve prizes and features every week.  If it’s an interview with Milton Jones, a charity walk or even a show party, you’ve Michael to thank for that. Actually on the topic of show parties that brings me round nicely to the main purpose of this blog post.  To celebrate our 4^th birthday we’ve hired out the whole of the Live Lounge in Hyde. Not only will we be doing Michael’s pub quiz live but we will also have live music, comedy, raffles, magicians and food. Right that’s all the promotion bit over with now for the next bit. During our 4 years on air we’ve met some wonderful people and made close friend with many local businesses and individuals. I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you. As you well know times are difficult at the minute so for businesses to provide prizes and support for the show we are really grateful. But the biggest thank you is saved for you the listener. Without YOU there would be no Weekend Wireless and in fact no Tameside Radio full stop.  We are truly grateful that you allow us into your life for 2 hours each week. Let’s hope next year we will be celebrating 5 years on air and who knows we might even make it to 10.
